The Town and residents are working together by taking actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Halton Hills.
By rethinking your ride and choosing to drive an electric vehicle (EV), you're making the right choice for our today and our future. Benefits of driving an EV include reduced GHG's which improve air quality, no fuel costs, and reduced cost on maintenance.
Personal vehicle use accounts for nearly 50% of all GHG emissions in Halton Hills. Reducing the use of fossil fuels in vehicles can have a major impact on our contribution to climate change.
In addition to driving an electric vehicle, carpooling, cycling, walking, and taking public transportation are good sustainable options to help you move around in the community and help reduce greenhouse gases.

Testimonials/Community Showroom |
“We bought the Nissan Leaf in 2017. We were skeptical at first about electric cars but after a test drive, we realized it’s just like any other car – except much quieter and smoother. We love driving it. We’re saving over $2,000 per year in gas, oil and other repairs compared to gas car. Better still is we feel better about not burning fuel and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. If you’re a 2-car family, changing the second car to electric is the fastest and easiest way to make a really big cut in the emissions from you and your family. As battery range improves and there are more charging stations, we plan on replacing our second car with another electric – or maybe dropping down to one electric car only.” - Brian & Karen H.
“We bought a Tesla in 2018 after paying for two gas cars over eight years, with maintenance, repairs and operating costs reaching about $27,000. This EV purchase just made sense financially. I enjoy driving a safe clean vehicle that offers new features through downloading software and Installation. We are confident to travel and have used charging stations throughout Canada and the United States. When we are at home, we charge it at night while we sleep.” - Roscoe P.
- Ian J. ![]() “As a family who has driven EVs for many years to reduce our carbon footprints, we are excited to put the EV to the test and take off on an adventure with it and our light aerodynamic trailer. We can enter our trip into the EV computer and it will map where the charging stations are and when we should stop to charge.” - Cindy
