The Town of Halton Hills has completed the development of their first Active Transportation Master Plan (ATMP) to encourage residents and visitors to walk, bike, hike and become more active as they live, work and play throughout the Town.
In November 2018, the Town of Halton Hills embarked on a comprehensive review of their active transportation (AT) related policies and plans with the intent of developing one central source for self-propelled transportation planning, design and implementation direction in the form of an on and off-road active transportation master plan (ATMP).
The ATMP caries the momentum of existing master plans including the foundational cycling master plan and trails strategy. It also reflects the significant growth that the Town has and will continue to experience which requires complete, healthy and active community planning for people of all ages and abilities.

Development began a four (4) phase planning process which began in December 2018 and scheduled for completion in the Fall of 2020. Below is an overview of the objectives of each phase.
On October 26, 2020 Town Council endorsed the Active Transportation Master Plan. The Town of Halton Hills would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend one of our public sessions and provided feedback to the development of the Town’s first ever Active Transportation Master Plan. |
