Caring for our environment is a shared responsibility. These initiatives and resources support everything from community involvement and tree planting to energy management and climate adaptation, helping build a healthier and more resilient Halton Hills.
2026 Halton Hills Native Tree & Shrub Sale
Participate in the Town of Halton Hills Native Tree & Shrub Sale where Halton Hills residents can purchase a total of 10 native trees and/or shrubs at a subsidized cost of $10 each plus HST.

Join us at Go Green Halton Hills for a day of hands-on activities, fresh ideas, and family fun—all focused on supporting a resilient and healthier environment.
The Town is collaborating with the Halton Hills Public Library (Georgetown branch), and the Downtown Georgetown BIA Farmer’s Market to raise awareness of sustainable actions that support a resilient and healthy environment.

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: 9 Church St., Georgetown
Take part in the outdoor and indoor family fun activities including:
- Test driving an electric vehicle (with a valid driver’s license) offered by Plug’n Drive.
- Hop on a Town ActiVan bus to learn about transportation in Halton Hills.
- Stop by booths of environmental groups, green businesses, and the Town
- Attend presentations by:
- Learn about rebates and energy savings through Save On Energy delivered by Halton Hills Hydro and IESO
- Learn about Greener Homes Halton Hills and free energy coaching through Windfall Ecology Centre.
- Attend Ask the Arborist who is available for your tree and invasive species concerns
- Children’s Storytime and recycling workshops
- Play games in the Hey Neighbour designated area
Background
In May 2019, Town Council declared a climate change emergency in Halton Hills. Through adoption of the declaration the Town is committed to taking actions to achieve a net-zero target by 2030 that supports a healthy environment.
