The Town of Halton Hills recognizes that everyone including community groups, organizations, and residents share the responsibility of strengthening a thriving and healthy environment and supporting a vibrant community that is safe and welcoming for all.

Community Grant Open House

Join us on January 29 from 6-8 p.m. to learn about the CGP and ask questions. Location is Mold-Masters SportsPlex (Alcott Hall), at 221 Guelph St. in Georgetown.

To support this collective effort, the Town offers funding and resources through the Community Grant Program to support community-based activities, initiatives, events, and projects that align with the Town’s strategic priorities and the funding streams listed below. Projects funded through the 2026 program must be delivered between April 1, 2026, and June 1, 2027.

Funding Streams

The Community Grant Program (CGP) has four streams of funding with their own specific guidelines outlining project requirements, eligibility for funding and eligible expenses, application and process, evaluation standards, and the program’s terms and conditions. Apply to the funding stream that most suits your project.

Open House - January 29

We are hosting a Community Grant Program Open House on January 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Mold-Masters SportsPlex (Alcott Hall), located at 221 Guelph Street in Georgetown. Community organizations are invited to drop in, learn about available funding streams, key dates, and to speak directly with staff for guidance and support throughout the application process.

Community Investment

Community Investment Stream

Maximum $5,000 per project.

The Community Investment Stream supports group development efforts such as strategic planning, governance improvements, marketing, volunteer recruitment and management, or training that enhances the sustainability and effectiveness of community organizations.
This stream also funds the launch of new initiatives or the expansion of existing activities and services that creatively respond to emerging community needs.

Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship Stream

Maximum $2,500 per project.

The Environmental Stewardship Stream supports community projects that help protect and enhance the natural environment in Halton Hills. Through this funding stream, community groups, organizations, and residents can take action to improve environmental health and biodiversity — from planting native trees, shrubs, and pollinator gardens to restoring habitats and reducing the spread of invasive species. Projects may also focus on raising awareness or taking practical steps to address climate change, helping to build a more resilient and healthy community for everyone.

Neighbourhood Projects

Neighbourhood Projects Stream

Maximum $250 per neighbourhood, per year.

The Neighbourhood Projects Stream empowers residents and neighbourhood groups to organize events and activities that build stronger, more connected neighbourhoods by fostering collaboration, celebrating local culture, and encouraging civic participation. The program supports initiatives that promote inclusion, strengthen community pride, and create opportunities for residents to engage meaningfully with one another.

Application Deadline: Applicants are welcome to apply to the Neighbourhood Projects Stream opening on January 12, 2026, and remaining open until all funds have been allocated. Once the funding pool has been fully committed for 2026, no further applications will be accepted.

Special Events

Special Events Stream

The Special Events stream supports local special events that align with the Town’s strategic priorities and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive, and connected community. This stream assists community groups and organizations in hosting events that bring residents together in shared public spaces. By reducing barriers to participation and encouraging collaboration, the stream helps activate public spaces, strengthen local connections, and celebrate the unique character and spirit of our Town. Funding varies based on the Town’s event classification system.
