Join us for a public open house to provide feedback and learn more about the Town’s draft Invasive Species Management Framework. Invasive species (including plants and animals) can disrupt ecosystems, threaten native species, and affect the health of our natural areas, and have economic impacts on our community. The Invasive Species Management Framework will guide the Town’s approaches to prevent, monitor and manage invasive species, and help identify and prioritize what to manage. Whether you’re a resident, landowner, or simply interested in the environment, we welcome you to attend and be part of the conversation. Learn more about how to donate or purchase used bikes, trikes and cycling equipment by visiting the Town's Cycling Programs page. Compost/Mulch Giveaway
The annual free compost, provided by the Region of Halton and the Town, is available to residents of Halton Hills. Please bring your own shovel and containers. Nature Hike at Terra Cotta Conservation Area Celebrate Earth Day as we explore the natural environment through hands-on activities using tools like magnifying glasses and identification guides. Join us for a spring walk along the trails at Tanners Woodlot to search for spring birds and wildflowers. We'll track our sightings for the HHPL eBird account and demonstrate how to use identification apps such as Merlin and Seek by iNaturalist. Bird and flower enthusiasts of all skill levels welcome. The Town of Halton Hills and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) are developing an Acton-Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan. This plan supports the environmental health of the community. Whether it’s planting trees, removing invasive species, or adding pollinator gardens, these actions support a greener and healthier community.

Turtles are on the move in Halton Hills from spring through fall. Sometimes, they choose an area that is less than ideal to lay their eggs, or they have been injured and need help.
