Personal Use of Fireworks

Under the Town’s Fireworks By-Law 2025 - 0006, the sale and use of family (consumer) fireworks are prohibited within Halton Hills town boundaries.

Not Permitted:
Roman candles, fountains, ground spinners, and burning schoolhouses

Permitted:
Sparklers

Fireworks may only be set off if the user has obtained an approved
Display Fireworks Permit by submitting the required application form.

Inclement Weather Policy for Recreation Programs

Program cancellations are actively updated online during normal weekday operating hours. Recreation facility closures due to inclement weather, or other causes will be communicated in the following ways:

During regular business hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

An update will be posted on the closures page
The program will be marked "cancelled" on our online registration system
A message will be recorded on the Town's recreation hotline at 905-873-2600 ext. 2708 or 2275

After hours and weekends

Check for a pre-recorded message at 905-873-2600 ext. 2708
Contact the recreation facility directly. For a list of recreation facilities, check your program registration confirmation or visit our facilities page.

If your program is organized through a third party, please contact your leagues for updates.

On business days when inclement weather occurs, closure and cancellation decisions will be made for daytime programs by 7:00 a.m. for programs that start at 9:00 am or later, and for evening programs by 2:00 pm.
