Kraft Heinz Canada had barely opened the doors of their new Halton Hills location when they made a donation of non-perishable food to the two local food banks. Last month Town staff picked up a skid of the world famous Kraft Peanut Butter containing over 2,000 pounds of food and delivered the product to the Georgetown Bread Basket and the Acton FoodShare.
The arrival of Kraft Heinz Canada to Halton Hills in the Premier Gateway was announced by Mayor Bonnette on December 12th, 2017. The new warehouse facility is expected to officially open later this spring.
Both the original Kraft and Heinz companies have a long history in Canada dating back over 100 years. The amalgamation of Kraft Heinz also has a proud history of partnering with food banks to address specific needs in the communities they serve.
“We are very pleased that despite the many complex stages involved in launching a new industrial facility, that Kraft Heinz would make it a priority to donate to our local food banks.” said Mayor Bonnette. “We welcome great companies like Kraft Heinz who pride themselves on community sustainability through good corporate citizenship.”
Carlos Piani, President of Kraft Heinz Canada stated that “Kraft Heinz is happy to support the Georgetown Bread Basket and Acton FoodShare. Our vision is to be the Best Food Company, Growing a Better World. To us that means doing our part as responsible corporate neighbours. We look forward to being part of the Halton Hills community for many years to come”
The Halton Hills Premier Gateway is the Town’s strategic employment area attracting high quality companies by offering easy access to major markets, highway connections, stable work force and full services.
