Please email the Clerks department to make an appointment when you are ready to file your nomination papers. Cost to file a nomination is $100.00 for every office. Cost for Office of the Mayor is $200.00. Methods of payment accepted are cash, debit or certified cheque. |

So You Want to Run for CouncilIndividuals who are considering running for the role of Mayor, Regional Chair, Local or Regional Councillor in any of the Halton Region municipalities this October are invited to register for a virtual information session led by Fred Dean, municipal coach and former municipal solicitor with extensive experience. The session will provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of regional and municipal council members including duties, scope, and commitments. Individuals who were not able to attend can watch a recording of the session. |
Election Sign By-Law |
The Town of Halton Hills' Election Sign By-Law (By-Law No. 2021-0064) is a by-law to manage and regulate election signs in the Town of Halton Hills. The registered third party, or the candidate, to whom an election sign relates shall be responsible for the erection and display of the election sign and shall ensure that all the requirements of this by-law are met. Cost for Election Sign Permit is $100.00. Methods of payment accepted are cash, debit or certified cheque. |

The Town of Halton Hills' Use of Corporate Resources during an Election Year Policy (PLCY-2022-0001) is a policy to ensure compliance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 by clarifying for candidates, current members of Council and Town staff the legislative requirements relating to campaign finances. |
