Property Tax Relief & Rebates

Farm Deferral Program

The Town of Halton Hills’ Farm Deferral Program was created to support local farmers by giving them more flexibility in paying their property taxes. Instead of making several payments throughout the year, farmers with land classified as farmland can delay their taxes and pay them later in a single instalment, usually in the fall. This helps farmers manage cash flow during important planting and growing seasons, when expenses are high and income may not yet be available. The program does not reduce taxes—it simply changes the timing of payments to better match the needs of the agricultural community.
