Reporting to the Transit Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe and on-time transportation, assistance and comfort of passengers to various destinations. This position also ensures adequate fuel is available, fluids are topped up in the vehicle for the day’s schedule, and the exterior and interior of the vehicle are clean and free of safety hazards. The Operator promotes a pleasant, customer-focused and professional atmosphere.
Accountabilities:
Operate assigned ActiVan vehicle in a variety of weather conditions, including hydraulic lift, electric and/or manual ramp
Inspect interior and exterior of the vehicle and complete a logged circle check at the beginning and at the end of each shift, as well as a visual exterior check of the vehicle when left unattended for more than 10 minutes; report any mechanical problems and complete a maintenance request form as needed
Clean exterior and interior of transit vehicle to be free of salt, dirt and debris and remove garbage and trash from the vehicle
Fuel and top up all fluids for transit vehicle
Physically assist passengers with disabilities and seniors (including those using wheelchairs and scooters) to board and de-board the vehicle
Load and secure wheelchairs, walkers and scooters using Q-Straint
Ensure that all Town of Halton Hills Policies, Procedures and Practices are adhered to and that all passengers adhere to wheelchair and scooter policies
Log in to the Automatic Vehicle Locator (A.V.L.) system at the beginning and log off at the completion of each shift. Utilize A.V.L. system by indicating pick-up and departure of clients and communicate with dispatch using canned messages during their shift.
Interpret schedule, plan route and drive passengers to specified destinations, verifying any changes to the schedule, and following Dispatcher’s instructions and respond to emergencies with minimal supervision
Collect cash fare and fare tickets
In the event of an accident or emergency, ensure passengers’ safety and follow ActiVan emergency procedures
Complete all forms and reports as required
Report health and safety hazards and apply safety precautions and procedures in connection with the duties performed as required by WHMIS, MTO, ActiVan Policy and Procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Act
Professionally conduct work to convey a positive image of the Town of Halton Hills and wear supplied ActiVan uniforms at all times

Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, this position will manage and provide preparation, operational and maintenance services to the arena concession, offering good food and service in an efficient, pleasant manner at market prices and to produce profit to assist the arena operation in accordance with policies and procedures established.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain an awareness of all scheduled activities.
- Be knowledgeable about the features of assigned facilities and be able to assist the public or direct them to the appropriate staff for further information as required.
- Maintain the highest possible standard of cleanliness of the work area and ensure equipment is clean and operating at all times.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by providing prompt, friendly and courteous customer service and responding effectively to customer needs.
- Ensure the concession is opened at the scheduled time.
- Ensure shelves are stocked and keep items to be sold prominently displayed at all times.
- Comply with Health and Safety practices and procedures at all times.

Reporting to the Cultural Program Producer, the Cultural Services Associate is responsible for supporting the planning, development and delivery of cultural programs, events and initiatives that advance the Town's Cultural Services workplan and, in particular, supports the marketing and communications related to Culture Days. This position contributes to making Halton Hills one of the best places to live, work, create, play and invest through the implementation of community arts and culture programming, public engagement initiatives and art gallery support.
Accountabilities:
- Supports the planning and implementation of local Culture Days celebrations, including marketing, programming, logistics, outreach and Culture Days Committee meetings.
- Conducts phone, email and in-person outreach to community groups, artists, cultural organizations, businesses and individuals to encourage participation in Culture Days and other Cultural Services initiatives.
- Creates a variety of communications materials to promote Cultural Services programs and encourage participation, including press releases, social media content, website updates, newsletters and the Create Halton Hills newsletter.
- Collects content for and designs the Culture Days community Guide Book with event listings, photos, and festival information.
- Develops and distributes marketing materials to encourage public attendance at Town-led and community-organized cultural programs and events.
- Attends local events and community activities to foster collaboration, strengthen relationships and build awareness of Cultural Services programs.
- Responds to public inquiries regarding Cultural Services programs and local cultural offerings while ensuring a high standard of customer service for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- Recent graduate or current enrollment as a full-time or part-time student at a post-secondary institution with a focus in Event Management, Arts Administration and Cultural Management, Cultural Studies, Museum Studies, Tourism Management, Cultural Planning, Community Arts, Communications and Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Three to six months of related work experience in arts, culture, events, communications, or a similar field.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.

Position Details:
This posting is for a temporary contract position supporting the Town's Cultural Services workplan.
The successful candidate will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to support programs, events and committee meetings.

Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, this position assists in operational and janitorial services to operations staff as required at assigned Arena Facilities. This position must work to ensure the highest standard of care for customer safety, cleaning, set-ups and take-downs for facility use activities.
Accountabilities:
- Assist operations staff with ice-related activities by removing nets, ensuring the ice is clear of skaters while the ice resurfacer is in operation and removing snow when the resurfacer leaves the ice area
- Clean dressing (change) rooms between games and practices
- Remove snow from all exit doors
- Assist in keeping the facilities and grounds maintained in a safe, clean and presentable manner
- Be knowledgeable about the features of assigned facilities and be able to assist the public or direct them to appropriate staff for further information as required
- Be aware of all scheduled activities
- Ensure all Health and Safety practices and procedures are followed at all times
- Use and store all required chemicals, cleaning material and equipment on site in a safe manner, including compliance with WHMIS procedures and all other authorities having jurisdiction

Under the direction of Public Works Supervisory staff, successful applicants will perform Public Works maintenance activities in a professional, productive, and efficient manner on road allowances, drainage systems, parking lots, parks, traffic control devices and other Town assets.
Accountabilities:
Participate in public works activities following prescribed methods for maintenance of roads, bridges, culverts, trees, ditches, storm sewer systems, sidewalks, curbs, traffic control devices, parks, and trails
Operate 3 and 5 tonne snowplow trucks with computerized material spreading controllers, pick-up trucks with snowplow and spreaders, and municipal tractors with attachments
Safely and efficiently clear snow from roads, cul-de-sacs, cemeteries, sidewalks, and parking lots, completing all activities to Town standards
Operate other equipment, including wheeled loaders, wood chippers, single axle vehicles and tractors with attachments
Competently perform flag person activities in accordance with traffic safety regulations
Operate hand and power tools safely and productively to complete maintenance activities
Provide excellent customer service to staff, outside agencies and the public while always interacting in a positive manner
