Town of Halton Hills Celebrates Small Business Week with Events, Resources, and Local Perks

HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills is proud to celebrate Small Business Week, taking place from October 20 to 25, by recognizing the local entrepreneurs and businesses that help our community thrive. Join us as we shine a spotlight on local entrepreneurs with success stories and an exciting line up with resources and support for new and growing businesses.

“We wanted to share the successes of the small businesses in Halton Hills who contribute to the strong business environment and high quality of life that we all enjoy,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor. “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, comprising approximately 1,500 businesses and 10,650 jobs.  As someone who grew up in a family retail business and was a partner in a local small business, I know all too well, the rewards and the challenges of ‘running your own shop’. I invite entrepreneurs, both seasoned and new, to join us for a week of networking, learning, and growing your business.”

Key highlights include:

• Networking Event: The Halton Small Business Centre, in partnership with the Town of Halton Hills Economic Development Division, is hosting a free Small Business Networking Event in support of small business week on October 22 at the Gellert Community Centre.

• Our Town, Our Stories: Partnering with Justin Plus Lauren, a local influencer, this campaign will feature interviews with small local businesses and the people and places that make our town special. Follow @VisitHaltonHills on Instagram or other socials and stay tuned for these upcoming posts.

• Autumn Discovery Pass: running from September 15 to November 1 is a free mobile program for residents and visitors to support local businesses with exclusive deals, discounts and experience fall in Halton Hills. With over 20 participating businesses, this pass makes your autumn adventures even more rewarding.

• Support and Resources: Through the Halton Hills Public library, entrepreneurs – both veteran and new – can turn their ideas into reality thanks to a suite of business resources and creative tools. Entrepreneurs can also plan and scale their businesses up through business planning and available grants with the Consultant-on-site Program where you can have a 1-on-1 consultation with a Small Business representative.

• Financial Incentives: Small business owners can submit an application for The Town of Halton Hills' Community Improvement Plan (CIP) that offers financial incentives including the Facade Improvement Grant, and Building and Property Renovation Grant. Eligible businesses can access up to $30,000 to support projects and enhance your business.
