HALTON HILLS, ON – The Annual Halton Equity and Diversity Roundtable (HEDR) conference is coming to Halton Hills for the first time in its 11-year history on June 3 and 4. Co-hosted by the Town of Halton Hills and the Halton Hills Public Library, this year’s conference explores the theme, Small Town, Big Ideas: Intersectional Paths to Equity in Urban and Rural Communities.
The conference will be held at the Library and Cultural Centre where attendees can expect inspiring keynote speakers like Devan Rajkumar, Andrea Carey, David A. Robertson, and Ashley Moore, plus an all-star lineup of breakout speakers, engaging sessions, social events and meaningful opportunities to connect with others advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion across sectors.
“The Town is thrilled to co-host this impressive conference. This is a fabulous opportunity to hear powerful speakers and engage with community leaders and changemakers,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor. “We look forward to welcoming conference attendees to our Town to experience small town living at its best.”
While conference registration is closed, residents are invited to attend free social events.
MCFN Flag Raising at Shelagh Law Parkette, June 2, 5 to 7 p.m.
Join Chief Margaret Sault to raise the Mississaugas of the Credit Flag at Shelagh Law Parkette, 75 Confederation Street. Presented by the Town in partnership with the Glen Williams Community Association, participants can also take part in the Moccasin Identifier Project, presented by the Halton Hills Public Library.
Cinq à Sept and Gallery Tour, June 3, 5 to 7 p.m.
Residents are invited to enjoy a free night of live music and explore the Helson Gallery and Sisnett Lobby through a guided tour led by curator Kara Bruce and an Anishinaabe Kwe artist Kate Dalton at the Cinq à Sept and Gallery Tour.
