HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills is pleased to announce a new sponsorship partnership with the Optimist Club of Halton Hills in support of the Lifesaving Society’s Swim to Survive program.
Through a three-year agreement, the Optimist Club of Halton Hills will contribute $15,000 to support the delivery of this important water safety initiative for local Grade 3 students.
The Swim to Survive program teaches essential lifesaving skills, including how to recover after an unexpected fall into deep water, tread water for one minute, and swim 50 metres. Delivered through local schools at Town-operated pools, the program plays a critical role in building confidence, improving safety, and ensuring equitable access to aquatic education for children across the community.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to keeping children safe and ensuring all youth have access to important life skills,” said Mayor, Ann Lawlor. “We are grateful to the Optimist Club of Halton Hills for their continued donation to community programs.”
By helping to offset program costs such as transportation and instruction, this sponsorship reduces barriers to participation and supports broader community goals related to safety, inclusion, and access to recreation.
“The Optimist Club is proud to support programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people,” said Iris Krahmer, President of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills. “Swim to Survive equips children with skills that can save lives, and we’re pleased to partner with the Town to expand access to this important program.”
The Town of Halton Hills extends its sincere thanks to the Optimist Club of Halton Hills for their ongoing commitment to youth and community well-being.
