HALTON HILLS, ON – The Helson Gallery is thrilled to present The Colours of HER-story, an exhibition that explores the vibrant and transformative third chapter in women’s lives. Running from September 4 to October 19, this exhibition features the work of artists Stephanie Schirm and Sian Gordon, whose bold use of colour and expressive style vividly reflect their personal experiences.
This exhibition invites viewers to see beyond the traditional male gaze and into a world shaped by the female perspective; honest, personal, and powerful. Through their paintings, Schirm and Gordon offer a fresh and inspiring look at aging, identity, and self-discovery.
A special exhibition reception will be held on Thursday, September 25 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Helson Gallery. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy live music by local musician Don Ablett.
"This exhibition beautifully shows that life’s later chapters are full of colour, wisdom, and creativity. It’s a powerful reminder that every stage of life has its own richness," said Mayor Lawlor.
While at the Cultural Centre, be sure to check out three other art exhibitions currently on view in the Sisnette Lobby and Halton Hills Public Library until September 21.
