HALTON HILLS, ON – The Helson Gallery is delighted to present three exciting exhibitions this winter, offering visitors a chance to experience the richness of Canadian watercolour painting and the creativity of local artists.
The Annual Holiday Show and Sale of Local Artists is back, running from December 2, 2025, to February 1, 2026, in the Upper Sisnett Lobby of the Cultural Centre. This popular exhibit offers visitors a fantastic opportunity to purchase unique, handcrafted gifts for the holiday season while supporting talented local artists and artisans.
The Helson Gallery will showcase two juried exhibitions celebrating the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colours (CSPWC) 100th Anniversary. Running from December 3, 2025, to February 1, 2026, these exhibitions honour a century of excellence in watercolour painting. Founded in November 1925 by twelve prominent Canadian artists, the CSPWC has long nurtured and championed this art form.
In the Helson Gallery, visitors can enjoy the CSPWC Members Exhibition, featuring a selection of works from 35 of the over 225 elected members, reflecting the diversity and mastery of watercolour.
In the Lower Sisnett Lobby of the Cultural Centre, explore the CSPWC Associates Exhibition. This is the first national exhibition by the Associates of CSPWC, a group formed around 1980 to foster engagement and education in watercolour painting.
Join us for the opening reception of these CSPWC exhibitions on Saturday, December 6, from 1–3 p.m. in the Helson Gallery. Awards will be presented by the jury, and all are welcome to attend.
“I’m thrilled to see such an incredible range of local and national artwork showcased at the Helson Gallery. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors alike to experience exceptional creativity and even take home a one-of-a-kind piece from a talented local artist,” said Mayor Lawlor.
The Helson Gallery is located at 9 Church St., Halton Hills and is open Wednesday to Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m.
