HALTON HILLS, ON – From April 27 to May 3, Volunteer Canada and the Town of Halton Hills unite in celebrating the invaluable contributions of volunteers during National Volunteer Week. Under the theme "Volunteers Make Waves", this annual recognition shines a spotlight on the selfless dedication and profound impact made by every volunteer.
“Volunteers play a crucial role in our community. From supporting sports teams to older adult programs, from championing environmental initiatives to organizing events and fundraisers, volunteers breathe life into our Town's diverse endeavours. With over 1,500 dedicated community volunteers, the collective impact of their efforts is immeasurable,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor.
At the Town of Halton Hills, volunteers are instrumental in supporting various recreational programs including aquatics and camps, the gallery, trail systems, special events, and the Hillsview Active Living Centres. Last year alone, over 424 volunteers generously contributed more than 35,500 total hours of their time. Learn more about volunteering with the Town.
