HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills once again earned top national recognition for its commitment to arts and culture, placing 1st in the national Culture Days rankings for “Small Municipalities” for the second year in a row and advancing to 3rd overall in Canada for community participation.
Halton Hills marked a milestone year celebrating 10 consecutive years of Culture Days, delivering more than 200 free and by-donation activities, welcoming an incredible 11,630 participants, and showcasing over 350 local and regional artists.
“Culture Days demonstrates what makes Halton Hills such a vibrant and connected community,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor. “The creativity and collaboration of our artists, volunteers, partners, and residents is truly inspiring. These national results reflect a community that values culture.”
Halton Hills also received provincial recognition through the Ontario Culture Days Spotlight Awards. In partnership with the municipalities of Oakville, Milton, Burlington, and Halton Region, Halton Hills earned top honours in the category of Best Collaborative Program. ‘Threads of Tradition,’ led by artist Rafia Shafiq claimed 1st place in this category, while the Glen Williams Bicentennial Festival was recognized as Runner-Up.
Culture Days is an annual national festival of arts and culture that invites the public to participate in free and by-donation events. In 2025, an estimated record of 9.5 million participants came together to celebrate Culture Days across 350 Canadian communities, with programming in over 40 languages available to the public.
