Fundraising opportunities
Hillsview Centres rely on your support to offer our valuable services to the community. That support can look different depending on your situation – whether it is a contribution to a fundraiser, a one-time or regular financial donation, a memoriam or estate donation, or even volunteering your time to support the Centres.
Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre is a registered charitable organization. Fundraising is a key component in sustaining the operations of the Centre. You can make a donation through Canada Helps. All donations will receive an income tax receipt.
You may have heard the saying "many hands make light work". Nothing could be further from the truth at Hillsview - our volunteers are not only helping to deliver programs but we couldn't do it without them. If you are considering getting more involved at Hillsview, consider speaking to a staff person about current volunteer openings.
Transportation
The Hillsview Active Living Centre staff are happy to assist you in getting set up with the ActiVan or Taxi scrip program. They will also discuss option for Halton Region split passes for those who qualify and you may purchase tickets at you local centre.
ActiVan is a public transportation service operated by the Town of Halton Hills for both persons with disabilities and seniors 65+. You may travel anywhere within the municipal boundaries of Halton Hills for any purpose including trips between Acton and Georgetown. The SPLIT pass is a program through Halton Region that subsidizes the cost of ActiVan and Taxi Scrip coupons for low income students, adults and seniors, in Halton Hills.
Taxi Scrip allows ActiVan users the flexibility to make more spontaneous travel decisions at discounted rates compared to regular taxi fares. If you are currently subscribed for ActiVan you will also have access to the Taxi Scrip program.
