Anyone is welcome to use the universal changeroom. Universal changerooms are a convenient option for:

- Anyone who prefers a private change cubicle – more private cubicles are available in this changeroom.
- Gellert Community Centre: At the Gellert Centre there are three different public changerooms; the male changeroom, the female changeroom, and the universal changeroom.
- Acton Indoor Pool: At the Acton Indoor Pool there is a male and female changeroom. A private universal bathroom is located in the school hallway outside of the pool entrance.

All swimmers may be asked to complete the Swim Test before entering the deep end, regardless of the swimmer’s age.
The Swim Test is a way for pool staff to confirm if someone is a proficient swimmer. To successfully complete the Swim Test, a swimmer must swim two widths of the 25 meter pool. At the discretion of aquatic staff, swimmers may be required to tread water for up to 1 minute. Children ages 7-10 must successfully complete the swim test to swim without a 14+ guardian.
The pool deck is a noisy place, so lifeguards use whistles to get your attention. Each whistle signal has its own meaning.
- 1 short tweet means a lifeguard is trying to get someone’s attention – often to remind them about a pool rule or warn them about a dangerous situation. Please look up to check if the lifeguard is trying to get your attention.
- 2 short tweets means a lifeguard is trying to get another staff member’s attention.
- 1 long tweet means swimmers should exit the pool. Please exit the pool immediately if you hear one long whistle.
