The Town of Halton Hills invites artists to submit work for exhibitions, events, public art proposals, and community-engaged art workshops. This page provides information and submission requirements for all current Town artist opportunities.

Artist Next Door
Deadline: August 21, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Artist Next Door is the Town of Halton Hills' artist-in-residence program, supporting the creation of new community-engaged artwork by local artists working in any artistic discipline. The program aims to increase arts and culture opportunities for artists and the public while fostering meaningful connections between artists and the Halton Hills community through collaborative creative experiences.
New in 2026: introducing a mentorship component to support emerging community-engaged artists. Lead Artist Omar Hopkinson will provide guidance, feedback, and professional support as 2 selected artists deliver their community-engaged projects. Through mentorship sessions and shared learning, participants will have opportunities to strengthen their creative practice.
Two (2) Artist Next Door residencies, each valued at up to $2,500 (plus HST, where applicable), will be awarded through this open call. As the Lead Artist, Omar Hopkinson will complete a third community-engaged project of his own.
