Physical activity is critical to living a long, happy life. Our fitness programs make it fun to stay active by combining skill development and physical activity with the social aspect of group exercise. Join with a friend or family member and enjoy the benefits of physical activity every day!

Login or register to your online registration account and find the desired program within the menu. If you need assistance with the process of registering online, call the Program Information Hotline at 905-873-2600, ext. 2275.

Fitness Equipment

If equipment is used in your program, please note the following:

The Town provides: Dumbbells, body bars, tubing, steps, specialized equipment

Participants provide: Mats/towel, yoga straps, yoga blocks

Balance and Stretch

Balance is a key component of everyday movement and falls prevention. Join us for a class dedicated to stationary and functional balance along with seated core work and stretching.

Body Blast

This is the ultimate strength fitness workout! Utilize tubing, dumbbells, body bars, and your own body weight to sculpt and strengthen your muscles. Please bring a yoga mat/towel.

Bone Builder

Bone Builder is a group resistance training class focusing on exercises to strengthen the spine and hips for those with osteoporosis or at risk of developing the disease. Postural and balance training is also included for falls prevention.

Cardio Sculpt

Strengthen your muscles and condition your cardiovascular system in this powerful class that combines aerobic exercise with resistance training for a well-rounded workout. Circuit training, step, and traditional floor routines are utilized to provide variety from week to week. Moderate intensity.

Cardio & Strength

Pump up your heart and muscles! This class was designed to address areas of functional fitness including strength, 20 minutes cardiovascular conditioning/stamina, flexibility, and balance.

CHAMPS Multi-Sport 

CHAMPS Multi-Sport is a recreation program for adults with exceptionalities. Multi-Sport participants are kept moving and engaged, learning a new skill from a different recreational sport. Activities include, pickel ball, carpet bowling, mini putt, floor hockey and badminton. Two trained Town of Halton Hills program facilitators along with volunteers will deliver this program weekly. Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary. This program runs for 6 weeks, from June to July. In August we celebrate the end of the season with a social gathering.

CHAMPS Soccer

CHAMPS Soccer is a recreation program for adults with exceptionalities. This program focuses on many fundamental movement skills along with organized game play. Two trained Town of Halton Hills program facilitators along with volunteers will deliver this program weekly. Everyone is welcome; no experience necessary. This program runs for 6 weeks, from May to June. In August we celebrate the end of the season with a social gathering.

Circuit Training

Circuit training is a dynamic and effective way to enhance fitness. This class will focus on aerobic and strength exercises in a circuit style to build heart health. Participants will go through a series of exercises that target different muscle groups for an optimal full body workout.

Core & Floor

Designed to strengthen the core (abdominals and back) while also improving posture and gluteal strength, this class lays the foundation for safe movement and a strong body. Learn safe and effective ways for getting down and up from the ground- an important life skill. Feel and see the benefits when performing other daily activities such as gardening or pickleball. Please bring a towel. A mat will be provided as most exercises are in the laying down position.

Dance Fitness

Love to dance? Then you will love DANCE FITNESS! Dance frees the body, enlivens the spirit, and strengthens the soul. This program combines different dance styles that are easy to follow and fun to do. You will strengthen your body, breathe easier, increase your stamina, and improve alertness…and have fun while doing it!

Easy Does It

This class offers a gentle combination of chair exercises, walking, stretching and circulatory exercise – all set to great music. Put pep in your step and be prepared to have lots of fun. Great for body and mind!

Line Dance

In this class, you’ll learn dances to a variety of music. Have fun and exercise at the same time. This class is designed for participants with Line Dance experience. Wear soft-soled shoes.

Intro to Line Dance

Intro to Line Dancing will teach you the basics of line dancing with no experience or partner required. Wear soft-soled shoes.

POUND®

POUND® combines cardio and strength activities in a workout inspired by the infectious, energizing and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a form of Chinese exercise involving the practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. Coordinated gentle rhythmic breathing is performed with slow repetition of fluid movement, to create a calm mindful state.

T'ai Chi 1

T’ai Chi is a form of Chinese exercise that involves learning a sequence of slow graceful movements which may improve circulation, coordination, balance, and concentration. You will be performing gentle rhythmical movements that mobilize every muscle, joint and ligament in the body.

T'ai Chi 2 (Outdoor)

This class is designed for experienced participants who have attended a minimum of 2 sessions of T’ai Chi 1. This class will take place in Glen Williams Park.

T'ai Chi 3

T'ai Chi 3 is for those looking to deepen their practice and commitment beyond solo empty hand forms. Come discover the ‘heart of the art’. Prerequisite: Tai Chi 2, or at the discretion of the instructor. Practice is expected outside of class time.

T'ai Chi Fit

Tai Chi Fit blends gentle, flowing movements with mindful breathing to improve mobility, stability, and balance. There’s no choreography to learn — just simple, relaxing movement set to soft background music. Great for strengthening postural muscles and easing stress.

Walk This Way (Outdoor)

Can you really walk your way to fitness? You bet! Physical Activity doesn't have to be complicated to be beneficial. Lace up your sneakers and join this instructor-led program for a moderate paced cardio pumping walk that's good for your muscles, your mind, and your mood! Class will take place outdoors on the Gellert Path.

Walk Fit Pass

The WalkFit Pass provides access to indoor walking at arenas in Acton and Georgetown. Conditions are always right for a walk in our climate-controlled facilities!

Walk and Talk

Join others in walking once a week on a variety of local trails and paths in Acton and Georgetown. Walk & Talk is designed for a light/moderate activity with walks lasting approximately 1 hour.

Yoga

Relieve stress and release tension in this progressive approach to fitness. Yoga incorporates breath training, meditation and physical postures designed to improve flexibility, strength, overall wellbeing and stress management.

Yoga - Ageless Yoga

Yoga targeting active agers! Relieve stress and release tension in this progressive approach to fitness. Yoga incorporates breath training, meditation and physical postures designed to improve flexibility, strength, overall wellbeing and stress management. A mat will be provided, as most movements are on the floor.

Yoga - Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair and standing using a chair for support.  Many traditional yoga poses are modified to make yoga more accessible. The focus is on building strength and flexibility and improving balance.

Yoga - Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening/contracting of muscles. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, ligaments and joints of the body and involves a series of held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower body – hips, pelvis and lower spine.

Yoga - Yoga Fusion

Combing the core strength of Pilates and the flexibility of Yoga, this class will strengthen, stretch, and unite your entire body. Come relax and enjoy the benefits of both.

ZUMBA®

Zumba fitness is a fusion of Latin music and dance themes that create an exciting and effective fitness program. It’s a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps. Join the party, experience Zumba!

Members of Hillsview Active Living Centre are eligible to receive a 25% discount on all fitness programs that take place at Hillsview Active Living Centre facilities.

  • 5 minutes for sign in and set up
  • 50 minutes for fitness class instruction

Outdoor Fitness Features

Our Active Easy mandate is to provide low cost or no cost opportunities for recreation and fitness in Halton Hills. For that purpose, we've created a number of outdoor fitness features within local parks that provide access to equipment and instructions. These installations enhance free fitness opportunities while you're already outdoors!
