With the help of our stakeholders, a Vision statement has been prepared to help guide planning in this new community...

To be the New Community of Choice

The Vision Georgetown community is an inspiring new urban community; distinctive in the way it looks and functions, fostering healthy lifestyles, neighbourliness, economic prosperity, and local pride.  It is a resilient, sustainable, complete, and compact community, with a thriving natural heritage system.  It feels like a small Town and is physically connected to the broader community of Georgetown and the Town of Halton Hills.  It honours the rich heritage of the Town, emphasizes people, and provides choices for day-to-day living.  Overall, the Vision Georgetown community is an exceptional, forward thinking, and innovative model for new community development.

There are 14 Guiding Principles that have been established to help achieve the Vision set out for this new expanded area of Georgetown. View the Vision and Guiding Principles. The Vision and Guiding Principles form the framework for decision-making when planning and developing this new community.

Vision Groegetown Worde cloudeTo date, there have been three public events held on the Vision Georgetown project to date as follows.
An Information Session was held in September 2013
A Community Visioning Session was held in November 2013.
A Public Workshop on the three Land Use Concepts was held in April 2014.

We have received excellent input during those events and identified some common themes.

A summary of what we heard at each event can be found under the Reports & Background Documents tab.

The next public open house is scheduled for Sept. 20, 2017. Visit the Project Status tab for the details of the Open House.
