Emergency Education brings together resources that help residents reduce risk, stay safe, and be better prepared before an emergency happens.
Halton Hills Fire & Emergency Services provides emergency education through prevention, public safety awareness, and preparedness initiatives. These resources are designed to support safer homes, buildings, and communities through year‑round education and targeted campaigns.
Organized into 3 key areas:
Preparedness
Preparedness focuses on how to get ready for emergencies and disasters before they occur. This includes planning, emergency kits, alert systems, and seasonal or campaign‑based information delivered in alignment with provincial and federal programs.
Residents are encouraged to review preparedness information regularly and take steps to ensure their household is ready for emergencies.
Prevention focuses on reducing the risk of fires and other life‑safety incidents through safe practices, inspections, permits, and education.
This area highlights essential fire prevention basics, such as smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and fire escape planning, while linking to additional services and resources provided by Fire & Emergency Services.
Public safety focuses on everyday behaviours and awareness that help reduce risk at home, in buildings, and in shared spaces.
Public safety education covers topics such as apartment safety, cooking and heating safety, electrical safety, and inclusive safety considerations for older adults and people with disabilities.
Fire Services delivers emergency response, inspections, and operational services, while Community Connect allows residents and businesses to share information that supports emergency response, together helping build a safer and more resilient community.
