The Planning & Development Department works to enhance and grow the community by developing and implementing plans, programs, and policies, including reviews of development applications under the Planning Act. Guided by Council’s Strategic Plan, federal, provincial, and regional policies, and the four pillars of sustainability - economic, social, environmental, and cultural - the Department provides balanced, objective advice to Council and stakeholders. This webpage offers access to key Town policy documents such as the Official Plan and Zoning By-law, details on current development proposals, and resources for submitting applications, along with information on heritage properties, policy projects, application fees, and more.
