Go Green Halton Hills Returns to Celebrate Environmental Action and Community Connections
HALTON HILLS, ON –The annual Go Green Halton Hills Event returns on Saturday, August 22, 2026, starting at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, 9 Church Street, Georgetown. This free, family-friendly event celebrates the community groups, organizations, businesses, and residents who are helping to create a more resilient, sustainable, and environmentally healthy Halton Hills.
Residents of all ages are invited to connect with local environmental champions, discover practical ways to reduce their environmental footprint, and learn how small actions can make a big difference in the community.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Explore and engage with interactive displays from community groups, environmental organizations, and local green businesses.
- Attend informative presentations on improving home comfort and reducing energy costs through retrofitting and energy rebate programs.
- Speak with the Town’s arborist about tree health, shrub care, invasive species concerns, and best practices for maintaining a healthy landscape.
- Connect with experts and community partners to learn about local environmental initiatives and sustainability programs.
- Discover practical steps they can take at home and in their neighbourhoods to support a greener future.
“Join us for a fun-filled day to learn about the wide variety of environmental actions happening in our community,” said Maor Lawlor. “Talk to environmental champions who make a difference by supporting biodiversity through their work or volunteer efforts and learn about the Town’s Greener Homes Halton Hills initiative that offers free and unbiased information for residents interested in retrofitting their home.”
Presented in partnership with the Halton Hills Public Library, the Downtown Georgetown Farmers’ Market, and Plug’n Drive, Go Green Halton Hills brings together a variety of exhibitors, educational opportunities, and hands-on activities designed to inspire environmental action. Whether you are looking to save energy, learn about electric vehicles, enhance your property’s natural environment, or simply connect with like-minded community members, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Spend some time with us to learn, become inspired and celebrate our community as we work together to build a more sustainable future for Halton Hills.
