Town Receives $50,000 Donation from Georgetown Slo-Pitch League to Support Baseball Facilities
HALTON HILLS, ON – The Town of Halton Hills is pleased to announce the receipt of a $50,000 donation from the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League, supporting upgrades to existing baseball diamonds throughout the community.
The donation was formally recognized during a cheque presentation with representatives from the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League and the Town of Halton Hills. The funding will support upgrades to existing baseball diamonds and benefit all baseball organizations that utilize Town-owned facilities, including baseball, fast-pitch, and slo-pitch programs for all ages.
The Georgetown Slo-Pitch League is comprised of approximately 55 adult teams, offering a mix of recreational and competitive opportunities through its co-ed league, men’s 35+ league, and competitive men’s league. Established in 1990, the league is a non-profit organization with a long history of reinvesting in local baseball infrastructure.
“Georgetown Slo-Pitch League is proud to support improvements to local baseball facilities that benefit players of all ages and levels,” said Jamie Chouinard, President, with the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League. “Giving back to the community and investing in quality sport infrastructure has been part of our commitment to Halton Hills for more than 30 years.”
Over the years, Georgetown Slo-Pitch League contributions have supported several significant community projects, including the construction of ball diamonds at Trafalgar Sports Park, the new multi-purpose building at Trafalgar Sports Park, dugout covers at Eighth Line Community Park, and general ball diamond improvements at various locations across the Town.
“This generous donation reflects the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League’s continued commitment to community sport and partnership,” said Mayor Ann Lawlor. “Their long-standing support boosts the quality and accessibility of baseball facilities in Halton Hills.”
The Town of Halton Hills extends its sincere thanks to the Georgetown Slo-Pitch League for its generous contribution and continued support of baseball in the community.
