First elected in 1997, Jane served two terms as a local Councillor representing Georgetown. Jane is currently serving her fifth term as a member of Halton Regional Council. In her role as Regional Councillor, she has committed to developing and maintaining a balanced, liveable Halton Hills that is economically viable, with a social conscience. Her efforts have contributed to the expansion of Halton Hills' interconnected trails and cycling routes, and lively cultural scene.
Jane is very interested in environmental issues and supports Town efforts to address climate change and protect the natural environment. Before entering public life, Jane worked in Parks and Recreation for the cities of North York and Sudbury. She has a B.A. in Physical Education and an M. Sc. in Sport Psychology.
Jane is a volunteer with the Halton Hills Cultural Round Table and is an active member of the Friends of the Old Seed House Garden. She is an avid cyclist, plays squash and tennis and enjoys gardening. She is also a recipient of the 2011 Halton Hills Arts Alive Award for Culture.
