HALTON HILLS, ON – Following a competitive process with numerous applicants, the Board of Directors for the Halton Hills Community Energy Corporation chose Scott Knapman to be the new President and Chief Executive Officer for Halton Hills Hydro. Knapman, currently the CEO of Festival Hydro Inc. and Festival Hydro Services Inc. brings over 30 years of experience in both the energy and telecommunication sectors.
Mayor Rick Bonnette, Chair of the Halton Hills Community Energy Corporation, noted that Knapman’s background made him an exemplary choice to ensure continued collaboration between the municipality and the hydro company. “Given the Town’s advancement in the areas of climate change, adaption and mitigation, I am pleased that we have secured Scott who brings with him in depth knowledge about green energy and technology along with extensive board governance experience.”
Mick O’Sullivan, Chair of the Halton Hills Hydro Board of Directors noted that Knapman’s background in overall business operations and strategic leadership experience will serve him well in the new role.
Knapman’s background includes working for an independent consulting firm focused on energy strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and new energy technologies, and holding senior level positions with responsibilities for business operations, integration of non-regulated companies and meeting net income targets.
“I am very excited to be joining Halton Hills Hydro,” said Scott Knapman. “The relationship of hydro to the municipality is one that I feel strongly about and believe that I can help advance the green agenda and deliver economic benefit to our stakeholders and the community at large.”
Knapman’s first day as President and CEO is July 5th.
