Halton Hills, ON – Last week’s Provincial announcement placed Halton Region into the Red (Control) Level yesterday with additional restrictions to help control the spread of COVID-19. These restrictions will be in place for a minimum of 28 days.
Municipal facilities and recreation programming can remain open though there are new restrictions in addition to ones already in place. Recreation Services staff are contacting user groups, renters and individuals affected by these changes. These restrictions include:
“We all need to do our part,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “It’s important to note that the new restrictions are in addition to the precautions we should all be taking anyway. Residents attending any Town facilities or recreation program are reminded of physical distancing, mandatory face coverings and mandatory health pre-screening, pre-registration and online payment options.”
Anyone with questions should follow up with their sport provider or user group. Recreation Services’ customer service can be reached at 905-873-2600 extension 2275. Information about fall recreation programming or drop-in programs is available on the Town’s website
The Town also continues to monitor the situation to support the local business community including ongoing collaboration with the Acton and Georgetown Business Improvement Areas, and the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce. “Since the start of the pandemic, the Town has been proactive in taking decisive and coordinated action to support the local business community.” said the Mayor.
