Zoning by-laws are passed by the Town under the authority of the Ontario Planning Act and are intended to restrict land use and buildings.
The Zoning section administers the Zoning By-laws and participates in the approval process of building permits and development applications. Staff ensures that all applicable law listed in the Ontario Building Code, including municipal zoning by-laws are complied with prior to the issuance of Building Permits.
Other duties include:
- the issuance of building and zoning compliance letters requested by lawyers and various agencies
- assignment of municipal numbers
The Council for the Corporation of the Town of Halton Hills passed By-law No. 2010-0050 on the 19th day of July, 2010 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.13 as amended, to adopt the Town of Halton Hills Zoning By-law. See attached
