Town to Host Ward Meetings

This spring the Town of Halton Hills will be rolling out a series of Ward Meetings as part of the municipality's work in engaging the public. Each meeting will include presentations on community-wide and ward-focused issues.

  Industrial park canwell

Industrial Park in Acton Receives Draft Approval by Council

On March 5, 2019, Town Council approved an application made by Futura Properties for a draft subdivision plan at 340 Main Street North in Acton. The application proposed to divide a 22.18 hectare parcel into three future industrial development blocks and a public road. The CanWel building, constructed in 2018, already occupies one of the future development blocks. The industrial park also includes a new connection to the Trans Canada rail network. The project has an estimated value approaching $30 million, marking it as the largest investment in Acton in decades.

Bike It Committee Events 2019

Bike It Halton Hills' mission is to make biking safer and more accessible to residents of all abilities. The Town of Halton Hills works in partnership with the Bike It Committee, a group of volunteers who have a passion for promoting cycling and cycling safety within the community. Everyone is welcome to participate in the upcoming events as we stride to gain Silver designation within the Share the Road Coalition:

April 27: Used Bike Buy & Sell
May 23 & 28: Dust Off Your Bike Rides
May 27: Bike to Work Day
June 15: Bike It to the Market
August 11: Bike It to Leathertown Festival

  Youth Mental Health

Movie Event Supports Mental Health for Halton Hills Youth

Local youth will benefit from mental health services at the Halton Hills Youth Centres thanks to the fundraising efforts of local businesses. The third annual Movie Under the Stars Event at the Gellert Community Park led by Georgetown Chevrolet Buick GMC, Generations Physiotherapy, Silsells Team Royal LePage Meadowtowne Realty, with title sponsors Scotiabank, The Club at North Halton and Tim Hortons Georgetown, had over 850 residents attend the event and raised over $10,000.

Crossing Guard Appreciation Day - March 20

March 20 is Ontario School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. Let's celebrate our local Crossing Guards by thanking them for a job well done. Crossing Guards play an important role in our community, helping children safely cross busy streets.
