FCM's Municipal Asset Management Program

Natural assets, such as forests, wetlands, and other green space, provide a range of services upon which our community and economy depend. To this end, the Town is seeking approval for a grant application to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Municipal Asset Management Program. The timing of the proposed Natural Assets Valuation & Management Strategy aligns with the Town's planning for intensification, growth and climate change vulnerability assessment and adaptation.

Seven New Pedestrian Crossovers
Support School Safety

New Pedestrian Crossing

Seven new pedestrian crossovers (a type of crossing where by law, drivers and cyclists must stop for pedestrians intending to cross the road) have been recently activated to support the Town's commitment to improve pedestrian safety and mobility. These new crossovers are all marked by signs and pavement markings. Pedestrians are required to press the pushbuttons to activate flashing lights and audible sounds.

Launch of New Recreation
Management Software

New Rec and Park software

The new Recreation Management Software for Recreation and Parks will be available on September 12, 2018. The customer-focused solution aims to provide a more efficient and enhanced level of service to the Town's customers both online and onsite. The new software will continue to develop and adapt to the changing needs of all users across the board.

Expansion of Greenwood Cemetery Columbaria

Expansion of Greenwood Cemetery

Greenwood Cemetery is almost completely built out with limited future infill development potential. In order to increase Greenwood's capacity, the remaining space currently available should be utilized to its fullest potential including additional new columbaria. A columbarium is a free-standing structure intended for the inurnment of cremated remains in compartments (niches).
