Rogers Hometown Hockey - Paint the Town Red & White

The Town of Halton Hills recently announced that our community was selected as a feature municipality for Rogers Hometown Hockey. It is the ultimate cross-country celebration of our great Canadian game. Ron MacLean and co-host Tara Slone will travel the country visiting cities and towns from coast-to-coast, with their first stop in Halton Hills.

The free family-friendly hockey celebration features two days of live entertainment, NHL alumni, local celebrities and hockey-themed activities for all ages. Running from Saturday October 5 through to Sunday October 6 evening, the festival culminates with an outdoor viewing party of a national NHL game broadcast hosted live by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone on Sportsnet, Canada's Home of Hockey.

Businesses across Halton Hills are invited to participate in the fun, to showcase hometown pride and compete for prizes, including backstage passes. All businesses, especially those with storefronts, are encouraged to 'Paint the Town Red and White' by creating window displays with Canada and hockey themes (who is your favourite NHL team?) or your own ideas in a red and white colour theme. Deadline to register is October 1, judging takes place beginning October 3.

Public Engagement for New Economic Development & Tourism Strategy

Continued prosperity is the objective behind the Town's work on a consolidated and actionable Economic Development and Tourism Strategy. Stakeholder engagement is a key phase in developing the updated Strategy, and we need the business community's help to capture existing strengths and identify future opportunities.

Two separate surveys have been created - one for all industries, and the other specific to the tourism industry. The general public is invited to complete one or both of the surveys. The surveys should take less than 10 minutes each to complete and responses are completely anonymous. The surveys are open from September 16 through October 3 for business owners, employees and citizens.
