HALTON HILLS, ON – June marks Ontario's 35th Annual Seniors' Month. This year's theme, “Aging Strong”, is about encouraging older adults to recognize this period as a powerful transition point in life; a time to be creative, accomplish new things, and find a new sense of security and deeper emotional connections, joy and wisdom.
Seniors' Month recognizes that aging does not prevent people from leading fulfilling lives and notes the myriad of contributions that seniors make giving freely of their time and talents. This designated, celebratory month is a time for reflecting on the wisdom, friendship and experiences offered by the older adults in our community.
“Seniors' Month allows us to recognize and celebrate the important lifelong contributions of this vital generation,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. “Our community is enhanced by the enthusiasm, knowledge and experience seniors bring and the sharing of their values both motivates and inspires.”
In Halton Hills, Seniors' Month is recognized through several events offered by the Hillsview Active Living Centres. During this month, the Town welcomes residents to "Enjoy Life in Good Company", and join in on the following events:
