In celebration of the Town of Halton Hills’ 50th anniversary, this year’s annual local artist
exhibition will be curated with the theme Strictly Local. To be selected, artworks will be created
by local artists and will respond specifically to Halton Hills. The theme can be interpreted in a
variety of ways and does not have to be taken in a literal sense. For example, artworks can
express an emotion about Halton Hills or represent a personal or imagined view of Halton Hills.
An artist statement explaining how your piece responds to the theme is required in the
submission process.
This call is open to Artists residing or working in Halton Hills or belonging to local artist
organizations. Artists may submit up to 2 examples of creative work for consideration in any
form made during the past 24 months. Original works in all media are eligible to a maximum of
48 inches in any dimension. Work should be ready for hanging – including suitable wiring.
Lockable cases are available for display of three-dimensional works. You may offer your work
for sale, but it is not a criteria for eligibility. Please note that the Town of Halton Hills takes 20%
commission on the sales of art (plus HST on the 20%).
Please SUBMIT HERE a maximum of two separate entries of your work for consideration in jpg
form (no larger then 10MB) labelled with the artist’s name and title of work. Please include
these details in the submission: title, medium, price, size, and brief artist bio and statement
explaining how this piece relates to the exhibition theme.
Submissions will be accepted until April 29th. Proposals received after this deadline will not be
considered. You will be contacted after this date once all the submissions have been reviewed.
