This is Wendy's first term as Councillor, fulfilling a longstanding ambition to represent the constituents of Ward 3 and the residents of Halton Hills at Council. Wendy was born in Georgetown and has lived in the same house on the same street her whole life. She and her husband ( who came from Ward 4) raised their two boys in the family home where they attended the same schools Wendy did and even had some of the same teachers.
She graduated from Sheridan College's Human Resource Management Program and then obtained her CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation. She spent 18 years in private industry, rising from Office Manager to Operations Manager to International HR Manager for a manufacturing and engineering firm. She joined an HR consulting firm, before working 6 years managing the Downtown Georgetown BIA.
Wendy has an extensive volunteer background with various organizations. With a true passion for baseball, Wendy has spent 40 years as a player, coach and on the league executive. She has volunteered with Community Living North Halton for the past 15 years and our Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 for many years. She has been a past board director for the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, Community Living North Halton and CASSH (Cancer Assistant Services of Halton Hills).
Wendy cares about Halton Hills the way that YOU do! She wants to protect its history and believes strongly in the Town's marketing slogan “Small town living at its best”. She is forward-thinking and open minded.
