If you are an eligible elector and unable to vote on Election Day or any of our advance voting days, you may appoint another person to vote on your behalf. This person is known as a “Proxy” voter. This person must be a qualified elector (you must ensure that both the voter and the proxy voter are on the voters list). You cannot appoint more than one voting proxy or act as a voting proxy for more than one person. However, this restriction does not apply if the elector and proxy are spouses or siblings of each other, parent and child, or grandparent and grandchild.
You may obtain a Form 3 – Appointment of Voting Proxy by visiting Town Hall, Service Halton Hills Counter, 1 Halton Hills Drive, during regular business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Proxy Forms are available through to Voting Day – Monday, October 22, 2018.
All proxies must be certified at the Clerk's Office, Service Halton Hills Counter, 1 Halton Hills Drive.

In order to have the form certified the voting proxy must attend the Clerk's Office – Service Halton Hills Counter during the above times, with the proxy form containing original signature of the elector making appointment of a voting proxy. The elector being appointed must sign the declaration before the clerk or designate at the Clerk's Office and provide identification for both parties.
Once the form has been certified the voting proxy will be able to vote as proxy. They must bring their voting proxy certificate to the voting location in order to exercise this appointment.
A person acting as a voting proxy may attend any advance vote location to vote as proxy however on Election Day they must attend a voting location within the Ward that the elector for whom they are voting is designated to vote.
The proxy voter is also entitled to vote in their own right and may vote at any advance vote location however on Election Day must attend a voting location within the Ward that they are designated to vote.
