Earth Day Online Tree Sales (SOLD OUT) |
The Halton Hills Tree Sale is sold out for 2022. Thank you everyone for another successful sale, see you next year! The Town will be hosting its annual Tree Sale at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre in 2022. Due to the success of the online format in previous years and ongoing COVID-19 health guidelines, tree purchasing will be held online again this year.
All species are available at a cost of $5 per tree (max 5 trees per household) and are native to this area. Saplings come in individual pots and average 2-5 feet in height. The following trees are available for purchase:

Free Compost and Woodchips |
Adding compost and woodchips to you garden has many benefits including conserving water, assisting in stormwater management, preventing soil erosion, reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere and promoting healthy plant growth. On Saturday April 30, 2022, Town residents are welcome to pick up free compost and woodchips at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Make sure to bring your own shovel and container. Questions? Email Clean Up Halton Hills. |
Used Bike Swap |
Join the Halton Hills Bike it Committee on April 30, 2022 for their annual Bike Swap, an event that gives residents the opportunity to recycle their used (in working condition) bikes in an environmentally friendly way by putting them in the hands of those who can use them. Event runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre (11620 Trafalgar Road). Donate your used bikes & trikes or get a used bike for a great deal with all proceeds going to local food banks! DonateDonated bikes and trikes can be dropped off at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre April 27-29, 2022 between 5 and 7 p.m. OR the morning of the event (April 30) between 8 and 11 a.m. BuyBikes can be purchased on April 30, 2022 from 10 a.m. to noon at Robert C. Austin Operations Centre. Bikes will be sold "as is" and priced as follows (cash only):

Community Clean-up |
The Town is expanding its Earth Week activities to include a 22-Minute Makeover and Community Clean-up. Take 22 minutes out of your day to head outside and clean up - whether it's your home, workplace or any area in need. Businesses, schools, local clubs, families, groups and individuals are encouraged to participate in the Community Clean-up. Register your efforts by emailing cleanup@haltonhills.ca and let us know where you will be cleaning up so we don't duplicate our efforts. Free bags and gloves are available and we'll even pick up the trash you've collected when you're finished! |

Create a pollinator-friendly garden |
A pollinator-friendly garden is a garden that is planted with native flowers that provide nectar or pollen for a wide range of pollinating insects and animals. A pollinator-friendly garden can be any size. You might have a small balcony or yard but you can still plant pollinator-friendly flowers to help our bees, butterflies and birds!
The Butterflyway ProjectJoin other Halton Hills residents and take part in David Suzuki's Butterflyway Project. Halton Hills has had as many as 51 household join with hundreds of wildflowers planted on behalf of the Butterflyway Project. We were even mentioned in one of their most recent blogs, Butterflyway Rangers bring flower-filled joy to gardens throughout Canada!
