10:35 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Deer Run Cres in Acton. Fire staff discovered that the detector was activating due to a "malfunctioning" alarm notification. The detector was replaced with a hardwired smoke/CO and installed by fire staff. Zero readings of CO during the duration of the incident. No further concerns.
12:26 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Lynden Circle. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised the alarm activated from cooking. Fire staff confirmed the false alarm and cleared the scene.
07:48 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Gower Rd. On scene fire staff entered the home and using detectors discovered the presence of CO. Fire staff found a bedroom window open, and with the wind, the CO from the furnace was being brought back into the home. No further concerns.
12:37 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible brush fire in Cedarvale Park. On scene fire staff searched the area and were unable to find any fire. No further concerns.
13:25 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Tenth Line and 32 Sideroad. Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival and advised fire was not required.
16:56 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Elizabeth Dr in Acton. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner and replaced the chirping alarm with no further concerns.
10:29 Hours - Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Trafalgar Rd. On scene fire staff met with building staff who advised that service work on the alarm panel was being conducted and they failed to notify the alarm company and fire department. Fire staff confirmed there were no concerns and cleared the scene.
12:33 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Cobblehill Rd. Halton Regional Police were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff provided patient care until Halton Regional Paramedics arrived.
07:49 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Silver Pond Dr. On scene fire staff entered the home and using detectors found zero readings of CO and found all detectors functioning properly. No further concerns.
10:37 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible grass fire on Eramosa/Milton Townline in Milton. The property owners did not have a valid burn permit and were advised not to burn again.
13:04 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Dominion Gardens Dr. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised there was no smoke, but an odour in the basement. Fire staff determined the odour was coming in through the patio door from outside. No further concerns.
22:52 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on John St. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who does have a valid burn permit and was burning within the parameters. Due to the complaint, the fire was extinguished with no further concerns.
01:54 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Main St. Fire staff assisted Halton Regional Paramedics with gaining entry into the building and cleared the scene.
13:23 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a grass fire on Foxtail Crt. A small grass fire was located behind this address. On scene fire staff extinguished a small mulch fire that had self-ignited. No further concerns.
14:17 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a public assist for the report of a commercial car wash style vacuum smoking in the area of Delrex Blvd and Guelph St. Upon arrival on scene the vacuum was not smoking. After investigating, it was determined that the bag had fallen off inside and the smoke was likely dust. No further concerns.
15:38 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on McClure Crt. On scene fire staff met with workers who advised this was a false alarm due to dust that had activated the alarm. Fire staff confirmed there were no concerns and cleared the scene.
16:09 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a vehicle fire on First Line Nassagaweya in Milton. On scene fire staff found a fully involved vehicle with some slight damage to a fence beside the vehicle. Fire staff extinguished the vehicle with no further concerns.
17:34 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible grass fire on a trail in the area of the Gellert Community Centre. On scene fire staff found a small fire of a partial newspaper. The fire was extinguished with no further concerns.
18:26 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Mill and Wallace Streets in Acton. On scene fire staff provided patient care until Halton Regional Paramedics arrived.
18:02 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Guelph St & Delrex Blvd. On scene fire staff applied absorbant to leaking fluids and cleared the scene.
18:14 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible natural gas leak on Margaret St. A contractor hit the main gas line while excavating for a water line. Surrounding homes were evacuated until Enbridge arrived on scene. Fire staff remained on scene until Enbridge Gas arrived and advised they were no longer required.
19:11 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Mountainview Rd N. Halton Regional Police and Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival and advised fire was not required.
13:43 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a natural gas leak on Sinclair Ave. On scene fire staff found a backhoe that had struck a service line to a business on Sinclair Ave. Fire staff remained on scene until Enbridge Gas was able to shut the valve off and stop the leak.
17:07 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Main St N in Acton. Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff assisted with patient care and cleared the scene.
03:52 Hours - Fire fighters responded to an unknown odour on Hall Rd. Upon entering the home, fire staff noticed an odour of burning. Fire staff removed the rear panel of the fridge and plugged it back in. Immediately following being plugged back in arcing and small flames were visible in the motor area of the fridge. Fire staff left the fridge unplugged and advised the owner to have the fridge serviced or replaced before plugging it back in.
11:11 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Caseley Dr. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who did not have a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for any future burns.
17:46 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a BBQ fire on Somerville Rd in Acton. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised that their BBQ on the rear deck was extremely hot and the grease trap was on fire. Fire staff extinguished the fire and advised the homeowner to clean the BBQ before using again.
11:32 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a vehicle fire on Trafalgar Rd. On scene fire staff found a lawn tractor that was smoking. The person who was cutting the grass stated there was a small flame visible under the hood of the tractor and that they used a dry chemical extinguisher to extinguish the flame. Fire staff disconnected the battery and applied water to the engine area for cooling. No further concerns.
12:55 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Bower St in Acton. On scene fire staff spoke with the homeowner who described seeing a "gas bubble" with a small flame in its center near her gas stove. Fire staff entered the structure and found no heat, visible flame, or detected any presence of gas. The gas at the stove and at the meter was shut off. Union gas was requested to attend the scene. The homeowner was directed not to turn on the gas to the house until Union Gas had given them approval. No further concerns.
17:23 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Trafalgar Rd & 32 Sideroad. Halton Regional Police were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff stabilized the vehicles and applied absorbant to leaking fluids. Fire staff assisted with traffic control until cleared by Halton Regional Police.
17:44 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Third Line and Glen Lawson Rd. On scene fire staff provided patient care until Halton Regional Paramedics arrived.
20:48 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Niagara Trail. On scene fire staff found no evidence of burning and no visible smoke and no smell of smoke. No further concerns.
21:09 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a fireworks complaint on Beaumont Court. On scene fire staff found no evidence of fireworks being discharged in the area. Fire staff advised the residents of the bylaw stating that fireworks can only be discharged on Victoria Day Monday.
21:45 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report that fireworks had been discharged and landed underneath a vehicle on Beaumont Court. Halton Regional Police and Town of Halton Hills By-law were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff left the scene in the hands of Halton Regional Police.
08:01 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a public assist on Fifth Line. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised that there was a fire overnight in their carport. Fire staff confirmed the fire was extinguished and there were no further concerns.
13:05 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Steeles Ave. On scene fire staff found a main feeder line for the sprinkler system had developed a pin hole and was leaking, flooding the store. Crews worked to pull down the ceilings and gain access to confirm exact origin of the leak. Fire staff shut off the sprinkler water supply to the building affected. No further concerns.
13:52 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Morden Neilson Way. On scene fire staff noted smoke in the home. Upon entry into the home fire staff found a pot on the stove. The pot was removed from the stove and fire staff ventilated the home with no further concerns.
15:03 Hours – Fire fighters responded to public assist on Steeles Ave. On scene fire staff met with building personnel who was attempting to silence the alarm. Fire staff assisted with no further concerns.
18:08 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Ninth Line. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who did have a valid burn permit and was burning within the parameters of the permit and was extinguishing the fire. No further concerns.
07:39 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Charles St. On scene fire staff entered the home, and using detectors found zero readings throughout. Fire staff determined the detector was faulty.
13:16 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Ontario St. While enroute fire was advised this was for a trailer outside of the structure. On scene fire staff found a well involved commercial trailer unit reversed into a loading dock at the rear of the building. Fire staff extinguished the fire and entered the building to ensure no extension into the building. After the fire was extinguished crews worked to remove smoke from through the structure.
06:58 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Main St S. On scene fire staff entered the home, and using detectors found zero readings throughout. Fire staff determined the detector was faulty.
13:54 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a tree on fire in the area of Harding St & Maple Ave. On scene fire staff were advised that a tree limb had broken off in the wind and had landed partially on the high voltage power lines. Hydro was on scene quickly and removed the branch. No further concerns.
06:49 Hours - Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Trafalgar Rd & 22 Sideroad. Halton Regional Police and Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff secured the vehicle and cleared the scene.
11:44 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Willow St in Acton. On scene fire staff assisted Halton Regional Paramedics with patient care and cleared the scene.
20:09 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Callaghan Cres. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised there was smoke in the basement. Fire staff entered the home and searched for the source of the smoke. Fire staff determine the smoke was coming from a burnt out freezer motor. No further concerns.
09:41 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Berton Blvd. On scene fire staff entered the home and found the detector had a low battery. The battery was replaced with no further concerns.
13:43 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Birchway Place in Acton. Fire staff entered the home, and upon investigation, it was noted that it was the smoke alarm that had activated, not the CO alarm. Fire staff installed a new battery with no further concerns.
14:12 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Birchway Place in Acton. Fire staff returned for a smoke alarm that had activated again. Fire staff replaced the detector with no further concerns.
22:45 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Guelph St. On scene fire staff were unable to verify what caused the alarm. The panel was silenced and left in trouble for the responding alarm technician to trouble shoot. No further concerns.
16:55 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a grass fire on Tenth Line. On scene fire staff walked the Bruce Trail to where they found a 60' tree that had collapsed and was burning inside the tree, which had ignited the surrounding area. Fire staff extinguished the fire with no further concerns.
02:37 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Sixth Line. Upon arrival fire staff found a travel trailer and van fully involved in the driveway. Crews quickly extinguished the fires reducing the exposure to other vehicles. Once the fire was extinguished, fire staff discovered two additional vehicles that had sustained heat damage.
08:53 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Main St N and Moore Park Cres. Halton Regional Police and Halton Regional Paramedics were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff applied absorbant to leaking fluids and cleared the scene.
15:03 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Clayhill Rd. While enroute fire was advised this was not a structure fire, however the homeowner was burning garbage, which eventually spread to a trailer. Halton Regional Police were on scene upon arrival. Fire staff extinguished the fire with no further concerns.
23:28 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Trafalgar Rd. On scene fire staff met with the tenant who was burning without a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for any future burns.
13:14 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on 5 Sideroad. Fire was advised they were not required.
19:11 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Lawlor St. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who was burning without a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for any future burns.
21:04 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fir eon Tanners Dr in Acton. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised there was a burning odour in the area of the kitchen/living room area. Upon entry into the home, a faint odour of burning was noticed. Using thermal imaging cameras fire staff checked the entire home with nothing found. The homeowner was advised to call the Fire Department again if the odour returns.
21:55 Hours - Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Trafalgar Rd. On scene fire staff met with the tenant who was burning without a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for any future burns.
05:16 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on Somerville Rd in Acton. While enroute fire was advised they were not required.
14:24 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Guelph St. On scene fire staff met with the technician who advised this was an accidental activation. Fire staff confirmed there were no concerns and cleared the scene.
01:53 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide (CO) activation on 22 Sideroad. On scene fire staff entered the home, and using detectors found zero readings throughout. No further concerns.
21:15 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on Harrop Crt. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who was using a propane fire table, which does not require a burn permit. No further concerns.
12:06 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Chapel St. On scene fire staff found the alarm panel showing a pull station activation in the west garage. Upon investigation fire staff found no activation or issue with the pull station. No further concerns.
18:25 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a possible structure fire on Sixth Line. Upon arrival on scene there was no evidence of fire. Fire staff met with the homeowner who was extinguishing flames with a garden hose and fire extinguisher. Fire staff quickly extinguished the remaining flames and checked for any extension into the remainder of the home, with no extension found. An investigation determined that the fire was caused by smokers materials. No further concerns.
19:33 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a burn complaint on 5 Sideroad. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who did not have a valid burn permit. The fire was extinguished and the burn permit process was explained for any future burns.
22:51 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Winston Churchill Blvd. On scene fire staff provided patient care until Halton Regional Paramedics arrived.
