HALTON HILLS, ON – The Province of Ontario announced that this year the Town of Halton Hills will receive $1,598,576 from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund for use on improvements to roads, bridges, water and wastewater.
“We are pleased that the Province recognizes the need to support smaller municipalities”, said the Mayor Rick Bonnette. “Predictable and stable funding supports the Town’s ability to plan for initiatives. These funds will be deployed to a variety of projects that will allow the Town to further its commitment to improvements, asset management and climate change-related issues as a council priority."
In addition to northern and rural municipalities, the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund supports eligible municipalities with populations less than 100,000. Halton Hills is one of 424 communities across the province to receive funding in 2020.
“I want to thank the Mayor and Town Council for their leadership,” said Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott. “I also want to acknowledge the dedication and professionalism of Town staff, which together will ensure that this provincial investment is put to good use, supporting infrastructure projects we need.”
