The Town of Halton Hills is planning to rehabilitate the Mountainview Road Bridge over Hungry Hollow. During construction Mountainview Road between resource road and Eden Place will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project (April - December 2022). Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. There will be a designated multi-use paths in each direction open to pedestrians for the duration of the project. Access to all private residences will also be maintained.
The bridge was built in 1996 and is due for rehabilitation. This rehabilitation will include repair of sidewalks, retaining walls, concrete curbs, parapet walls, removal of the longitudinal seal, patch, waterproof and pave the deck, replace outer and inner railing systems.
As applicable, school boards and bus companies will be notified of the project in the event that pick-up and drop-off areas need to be adjusted during the construction. The Post Office will be notified of the project. Mail delivery will not be disrupted.
For those residents near or around Eden Place, please continue to place your garbage, blue box and green cart out on your usual collection day. It is the contractor's responsibility to move these materials to a location where they can be accessed by collection vehicles. In order to help the contractor, please place your house number on the bins for easy identification.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank residents for their patience during the construction period. Questions or concerns, contact Michelle Mathies via email or by telephone at 905-873-2600, ext. 2319.
