Our priority at the Town is to keep staff and residents safe as we continue to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I know we are all getting weary of the escalating Covid cases and cancellations as we look to the holidays, but we need to remain vigilant and continue to pull together to help stop the spread of Omicron, the most contagious Covid variant to date.
The Town is working with our regional and provincial partners to provide updated information as quickly and effectively as possible as Covid protocols continue to evolve. I urge you to visit our website for regional and provincial COVID-19 updates and holiday closures. You can also find information on vaccinations and testing, service closures and adjustments, and supports for residents and businesses on the website.
I know it has been difficult and stressful for you and your families over the last few years and I want to thank every one of you for your dedication to our community. It’s a different world today than what I have experienced over decades as your mayor and Town business is conducted differently than in previous years. We’ve all had to adapt to constant change, and we have and for that I am thankful.
On behalf of Town Council, I would like to wish you and your families a very happy holiday. Enjoy this precious time with family and friends. I’d also like to extend my thanks to Town staff, across departments, who will be working over the holidays to provide services.
Please be safe and remember that kindness goes a long way in difficult times.
Mayor Rick Bonnette
