In May 2016 the Hillsview Active Living Centres received their second 3-year accreditation through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) under the person-centered programming standard. We demonstrated that the data we collect is used to manage and improve service delivery. Qualifying for accreditation, indicators and improvement activities were examined for both services delivered and business practices. For service delivery, indicators needed to cover each of the following areas: the effectiveness of services; the efficiency of services; service access and satisfaction. Other feedback from the persons served and other stakeholders was also taken into consideration. Indicators for business practices needed to examine financial data, risk management, human resources, and health and safety systems, among others.
