Air drying clothes, rather that using an electric dryer, saves energy, saves money and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. | April 17 and 25, 2009 | Celebrating Earth Week Halton Hills will be focusing on the environment over two weekends, between April 17 and 25. For more information, please contact the Infrastructure Services Department at 905.873.2601 ext. 2610. The 5th annual Halton Hills 20 Minute Makeover is scheduled for Friday April 17. Everyone is encouraged to participate by picking up litter in their immediate neighbourhoods. The 9th annual Community Wide Clean Up is on Saturday April 18. Hundreds of volunteers will scour our parks, ravines and roadsides to collect litter. The rain date is Saturday April 25. |

Held at the Cedarvale Community Centre, this event will include an indoor presentation followed by an outdoor telescope viewing session. | March 29, 2008 | Earth Hour™ is an event that was pioneered in Sydney (Australia) last year when over 2.2 million people and 2,100 businesses turned off their lights for just an hour - Earth Hour - in order to demonstrate that it is possible to take action against climate change. This year, Earth Hour is a global event that will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2008 between 8pm and 9pm.
