Volunteer With Us!
Volunteer Opportunities
Recreation and Parks is proud to provide a variety of opportunities for volunteers of all ages to get active and get involved in our community!
Volunteers Speak Up
We asked some of our volunteers about their recent experiences in our programs and this is what they had to say:
- “I have learned to become a child's friend and role model”
- “I love to swim, so it is pretty natural that I volunteer at the pool. I love volunteering there because I want to share my swimming knowledge and techniques”
- “It was a great way to earn my 40 hours and I also got to meet a whole bunch of new people!”
- “I decided to volunteer with the Town of Halton Hills because I really enjoy working with kids. I also like learning how to be a leader”
- “It makes me proud to see the kids so happy, knowing that I have made a difference in their life”
- “I am having a blast! I can't tell you how much I enjoy it and I'm learning a ton of stuff from the wonderful staff. They are so kind to me.”
- “I love it here, and you could too!”

Highly Recommended for New Youth Volunteers!
The P.L.A.Y. Program (Promoting Leadership Amongst Youth) encourages participants to become leaders in their own lives. The focus of the program is personal growth through fun and challenging group activities and is both classroom-based and hands-on. Taking part in activities such as “challenge courses” and “orienteering”, youth will be introduced to topics such as teambuilding, communication, decision-making, conflict resolution and self-awareness. The action-packed week is capped off by a hiking trip that is 100% planned and led by the participants. Click here to register today!
