Locally Grown 2017: Call for ArtistsCanada Flag with Hands

The theme for this year’s Locally Grown exhibition in the Helson Gallery is ‘Celebrating Canada’. Artists are encouraged to explore our country’s unique landscape, people and history – local perspectives, abstractions, and varied interpretations of this theme are welcome.

The exhibition is open to artists residing in Halton Hills or those who are members of local arts organizations. Works should be completed within the past 24 months and should not have been previously exhibited at the Gallery or Cultural Centre. Original works in all media are eligible to a maximum of 48 inches in any dimension. Lockable cases are available for display of three dimensional works. You may offer your work for sale but it is not a criteria for eligibility. Please note that the Town of Halton Hills takes a 20% commission (plus HST on the 20%) on any art sales.

Please email two (maximum) examples of your work in jpg form, along with a brief bio and statement by May 26, 2017 to Please note, we are anticipating a brief closure of the gallery in June for some renovation work and at present, are not able to confirm a firm date for the exhibition’s opening. The exhibition will be on view in the Helson Gallery from July – mid September 2017; Drop-off and installation dates will be confirmed a.s.a.p.
