Election Information
This notice is for anyone proposing to be a candidate in the municipal election on October 25, 2010 for the Town of Halton Hills for the offices of:
- Mayor
- Councillors (Local and Regional)
- Regional Chair (Nomination form is to be filed with the Region of Halton)
- Trustee, Halton District School Board
- Trustee, Halton Catholic District School Board
- Trustee, Conseil scolaire de district du Centre Sud-Ouest (Nomination forms to be filed with City of Hamilton)
- Trustee, Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud
Candidates may file a nomination form during regular business hours from January 4th, 2010 with the last day for filing being September 10, 2010. A prescribed fee which may be refundable, in the amount of $200.00 for Mayoral candidates and $100.00 for all other candidates payable by cash, certified cheque or money order, must accompany the nomination form.
Please note:
A person who proposes to be a candidate may not solicit or accept contributions for election purposes, or incur expenses, until after that person has filed a Nomination Paper and Declaration of Qualification with the Town Clerk.
The nomination form is available from the office of the Municipal Clerk and may be printed from the link below along with the appropriate Declaration of Qualification.
