Acton Parks Georgetown Parks

Many community volunteer groups are working hard to construct or expand on existing facilities or develop new policies, The Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to be assisting the following groups, and encourage you to check out the great work they are doing:

  • Acton Rotary Club Bandshell: The Rotary Club's proposal adds a bandshell for music in Prospect Park. Call Bill Beaton 519-853-2272

  • Acton Sports Action Park (ASAP): Planning a group to facilitate the development of a skateboard park in Acton. Call Deb Fendley (Chair) at 519-853 2880

  • Friends of Devereaux House: Working toward the preservation and refurbishment of the former Devereaux House at 11494 Trafalgar Road. Call Ann Lawlor at 905-877-5662

  • Friends of The Old Seed House Garden:Development of a public garden on a portion of the former Dominion Seed House property. Call Councillor Jane Fogal (chair) at 905-877-5806

  • Georgetown Baseball Association: New back stop and dugouts at Georgetown Fairgrounds with Trillium Foundation and Club funds

  • Glen Williams Park: 509 Main St. Glen Williams. Amenities; playground, ball diaminds, trails, river, picnic pavilion, parking, washroom. For park rental call Barb Anger at 905-873-2601 x2269.


  • Halton Hills Dog Owners Group (HH-DOG): Facilitation the development of a leash-free zone for dogs as a trial operation. Call Kathy Dorbeck at 905-702-1603.

  • Healthy Options for People and the Environment (H.O.P.E.): Working with the Town to educate the public about natural lawn care alternatives. Call Christine Upton at 905-877-4414

  • Limehouse Kiln Society: Preservation and enhancement of the historic lime kilns in Limehouse. Call Mary Shier (chair) at 905-877-1427.
