Florence Riehl - Hillsview Georgetown
Mark Rowe’s overall view of the History of Georgetown and surrounding area was well received by those in attendance. If you wish to delve deeper into the topic, Mark has written several books which can be purchased from the Historical Society.
St. Roch students will be with us to serve lunch on April 20. Tickets are on sale at Reception. May 4th will be there last visit to the Centre for this school yeaer.
Plans are well under way for our Annual Spring Fashion Show to be held on Monday, May 8. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. Again our models will be sporting the spring and summer fashions of both Alia Tan/Jay and Northern Reflections. You can purchase your ticket at Reception or at either one of the stores in the Mall. Light refreshments will be served. Advance ticket sales only.
The Hort Head Indoor Gardening Club, is holding another six week session on Tuesdays beginning May 9 until June 13 @10:00 a.m. There is a cost for supplies payable when you sign up at Reception. If the sound of laughter coming from the room is any indication they have loads of fun playing in the dirt and they always leave with something they have planted.
Computer workshops will be held on Thursdays beginning May 4 and run until June 8 @ 9:30 a.m. There are 6 topics to choose from and you can sign up for all or just those you feel you need help with. The sign-up sheet is at Reception.
In the foyer you will notice several silent auction items. Anyone of these would make a lovely personal treat or one for your Mother. There is also a gift basket full of great items. Tickets for this may be purchased at Reception. Both will close Thursday, May 11.
A reminder that the Centre will be closed Friday, April 14 (Good Friday) and also Monday, April 17 (Easter Monday)
